Job Description: Cook

Reports to: Head Chef

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and experienced Cook with knowledge of Thai or Asian cuisine to join our team in a quick-paced kitchen setting at Kiin! A Cook at Kiin transforms high-quality, unique ingredients into Royal Thai-inspired dishes through preparing, cooking and plating food in our open kitchen. Kiin’s goal is to accelerate our business development by providing customers with a memorable experience, which begins with our food. Schedule: 5 shifts/week; 1 pm start time. Wednesday through Sunday.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00/hour plus weekly tips

Overview of Responsibilities:
Prepare, pre-cook, and/or cook food products as directed.
Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, etc) and other products as required for highly detailed production.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, wok burners, counters and fridge.




Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
Label, date, store, and rotate food products in appropriate storage areas.
Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:
Proven cooking experience, including restaurant or prep cook experience
A certificate from a recognized cooking school is an asset
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Knife skills
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry’s best practices
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and high standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
Food Handlers Certificate Required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
