Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to manage the accurate, efficient movement of goods into and out of our facility.
The Shipper/Receiver handles incoming inventory, prepares outgoing shipments, maintains accurate records, and optimizes carrier selection to balance cost and speed. Performance is evaluated on order accuracy and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping
Pick, pack, label, and verify outgoing orders for accuracy.
Evaluate and select optimal shipping methods and carriers based on urgency, cost, package size, and customer preferences.
Schedule pickups, book delivery appointments, and process documentation (packing slips, waybills, BOLs).
Track shipments and resolve delays, losses, or delivery issues.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking numbers, freight charges, and related documentation.
Receiving
Inspect incoming products against purchase orders and packing slips for condition and accuracy.
Report receiving discrepancies to Purchasing and log inventory into the ERP system.
Label, put away, and process inbound returns or inventory movements.
Inventory & Warehouse
Maintain accurate ERP inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
Operate material-handling equipment safely to load and unload shipments.
Keep the shipping/receiving area organized, clean, and safe.
Follow company safety procedures and protected material-handling practices.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping and receiving area.
Communication & Administration
Liaise with Sales, Purchasing, carriers, and suppliers regarding order status and delays.
Maintain organized shipping records and identify opportunities to optimize freight costs.
Qualifications
Required
Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or logistics.
Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and computer literacy.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a quick-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Physical ability to lift and move products safely.
Preferred
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and carrier shipping platforms.
Experience rate-shopping carriers, evaluating service levels, and preparing freight documentation (BOLs).
Forklift certification or material-handling equipment experience.
Availability
Monday - Friday
8:30 - 4:30
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
