Join RED Mountain Resort as an Avalanche Forecasting Specialist in Rossland, British Columbia. This full time seasonal role will involve robust forecasting, safety training, and snowpack assessments.
In this integral position, you will become part of the Avalanche Forecasting Team while supporting Professional Patrol operations. Your daily tasks will include snowpack analysis, stability assessments, and creating avalanche hazard forecasts. You will also lead training programs and ensure compliance with safety procedures and avalanche control strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct snowpack analysis and stability assessments
• Supervise avalanche control operations and develop strategies
• Maintain current Avalanche Safety Plan and procedures
• Facilitate avalanche training programs and certifications
• Collect weather observations and documentation
Requirements:
• Canadian Avalanche Association Level 2 certification or in progress
• WSBC blasting ticket and current TDG certificate
• Proficiency in computer skills and safety protocols
• Active CAA membership in good standing
• Commitment to mountain safety and professionalism
