We are currently seeking a CAD Technologist to join our OLS Division to work out of our London office.

Responsibilities You will be a key member of the OLS team working closely with an Ontario Land Surveyor, Project Managers, Survey Crew Chiefs, and the Technical Sector Leader
Review architectural, civil, structural, landscape, and servicing drawings and prepare detailed construction layout calculations and sketches
Prepare construction layout information for building corners, foundations, curbs, sidewalks, utilities, light standards, fencing, grading features, and other construction elements
Prepare Lot Grading Plans, including proposed elevations, drainage patterns, slopes, swales, retaining walls, and related grading information
Responsible for downloading and processing collected field data and uploading coordinated layout information and preparing point plots
Prepare and/or facilitate the completion of a variety of legal survey plans, reference plans, Boundary and topographic surveys, SRPRs, Strata Plans, Condominiums, grading Plans etc
Undertake boundary calculations based on field evidence,
title documents and authority plans
Understand and Processing GPS data for UTM/MTM and localized datum (both ground and grid)
Attend and participate in project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables
Ability to read and interpret title information and understand priority of evidence
Strong knowledge of AOLS standards and regulations pertaining to plan specifications
Preparation of topographic plans including contours, DTM and volume calculations
Requirements Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, Survey Engineering Technology, or equivalent
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant CAD and survey experience
Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D
Experience preparing construction layout calculations and sketches from engineering and architectural drawings
Experience preparing Lot Grading Plans and interpreting grading, servicing, and site plans
Good understanding of survey calculations, elevations, offsets, slopes, and coordinate systems
Experience processing field survey data and preparing information for field crews
Working knowledge of boundary surveying principles and Ontario cadastral surveying standards
Experience with TBC, MicroSurvey, or similar survey software is considered an asset
Strong accuracy, organizational, and communication skills
Valid Class G driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel
Additional Responsibilities
Assist and provide technical support to junior CAD staff, as required
Assist with survey and project research, as required
Support field crews with construction layout information, calculations, and revisions
Maintain clear documentation of calculations, assumptions, and revisions
Other related duties, as assigned

Salary Range
$29.54 – $36.92 per hour, plus benefits
Hourly Wage will be based on individual education, qualifications, and relevant work experience.
