Trower calf ranch based in 204077 highway 25, Iron Springs, AB T0K 1G0 is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Dairy herdsperson who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. The candidate who got selected will be required to start work as soon as possible. The open positions pertain to the Permanent employment or Full time job. The candidate must monitor animal health.

The candidate will be responsible for treating livestock health issues.

The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.

The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.

The candidate must ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.

The candidate must milk cows.

The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.

The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English language.

There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.

The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.

The candidate should be a good team player.

The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.





The candidate should have positive judgemental skills.

The candidate should be reliable.

The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp and dusty conditions.

The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Farm operations include dairy and livestock farming.

The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

Equipment and machinery experience

The candidate must have experience using feeding and watering systems, automated milking systems, tractors, and farm trucks.

Area of specialization

The candidate should be knowledgeable about dairy cattle.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

The candidate must have the ability to work independently.

The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.

The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.

The candidate must finished the work with in the given time line.

The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent base.

The candidate should have an eye for details.

The candidate must be willing to work long hours in sitting, standing, and walking positions.

The candidate will be expected to manage a large workload.

The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.

The candidate must be willing to walk for long periods of time.
