Empower your community as a Peer Support Worker with XaaydaGa Dlaang Society. This role provides culturally grounded, trauma-informed support to individuals navigating mental health challenges.
At XaaydaGa Dlaang Society, you will utilize your lived experience to foster connections and provide essential outreach services. Collaborating with the Health Centre team, you will offer individual support, advocate for access to resources, and promote culturally protected practices in health care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build trust-based relationships with individuals in distress
• Offer one-on-one peer support and practical assistance
• Connect individuals to health and community resources
• Navigate health and social service systems
• Promote trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches
Requirements:
• Experience in peer support or community services
• Training in mental health or harm reduction
• Background working with Indigenous communities
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (asset)
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check for vulnerable sector
