The candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting strategies while implementing plans and initiatives to continuously improve transit customer service.
The candidate will be responsible for monitoring transit service delivery and liaising with BC Transit and the Operator on customer service, traffic management, safety, security, and compliance with operating policies and procedures.
The candidate will be responsible for using technological tools, including bus monitoring systems (AVL and APC), to maximize transit service quality.
The candidate will be responsible for providing and coordinating input for route operational design, planning, asset management, and capital plans and projects.
The candidate will be responsible for managing customer service complaints and feedback in collaboration with BC Transit and the Operator.
The candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development and delivery of marketing plans, strategies, and tactics.
The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and responding to safety and security contracts, incidents, and protocols.
The candidate will be responsible for providing research, input, and support to departments and external stakeholders on transit and the integration of the transit system with the broader community transportation system.
The candidate will be responsible for advising on and coordinating transit activities related to City and regional Active Transportation, Traffic Demand Management (TDM), and Air Quality plans, actions, and initiatives.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and, when required, supervising contractors and City staff involved in transit operations.
The candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating capital asset programs and systems for the maintenance, repair, and installation of new transit shelters, benches, and other transit amenities.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating Transportation Network companies, shared mobility programs, and vanpooling initiatives.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating multi-modal integration between transit and other transportation modes.
Job Requirements
The candidate must possess a Diploma in Business, Planning, Transportation, or a related field.
The candidate will be required to possess relevant work experience in a related field.
The candidate must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
The candidate must demonstrate service excellence by providing professional, responsive, and high-quality support.
The candidate must demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills to address issues in a fair and qualified manner.
The candidate must demonstrate strong project management skills to plan, coordinate, and complete assigned projects.
The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate information and develop effective solutions.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The candidate must demonstrate strong computer skills and proficiency with relevant software applications.
