Overview: The Senior QA Analyst plans, coordinates and executes testing for Microsoft 365 and Share
Point Online projects, with a focus on validating that migrated content aligns with the approved information architecture.
Reporting to the QA Lead, the role reviews requirements, builds test plans, leads User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and supports IT and business users.
What you will be doing: Migration & Information Architecture Validation Validate migrated content against the approved information architecture: site and hub structure, navigation, libraries, content types, site columns and managed metadata.
Reconcile migrated content with source systems, including file counts, folder structure, version history, metadata accuracy and broken links.
Verify permissions after migration, including Share
Point groups, inheritance, Teams and Microsoft 365 group membership, and external sharing.
Confirm Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels, retention policies and DLP rules are applied correctly.
Test search and findability of migrated content.
Test Planning & Execution Translate business and functional requirements into test plans, test cases and QA artifacts.
Estimate, schedule and execute functional, non-functional, security, performance and integration testing across concurrent projects.
Plan and run UAT with site owners and department stakeholders, and track results.
Log, triage and retest defects with the migration and development teams before each migration wave is signed off.
Produce testing, reconciliation and sign-off reports, and help maintain QA standards and procedures.
Collaboration & Support Serve as the QA point of contact for users, IT groups and external partners.
Mentor intermediate QA Analysts and help resolve complex operational issues.
Write technical and user documentation and deliver training sessions.
Support the Product Manager with business analysis as needed.
What you must have: Degree in Computing Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 6+ years of Senior QA experience on enterprise applications, including recent hands-on testing of Microsoft 365 / Share
Point Online migrations.
Strong understanding of Share
Point information architecture: hub sites, content types, managed metadata and permission inheritance.
Experience validating migrations from on-premises Share
Point, file shares or other document management systems using tools such as Share
Gate, SPMT or Migration Manager.
Power
Shell (including PnP Power
Shell) for pre- and post-migration reporting. API testing with Microsoft Graph and Share
Point REST, including metadata mapping between source and target.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview and Entra ID groups and access.
Test and defect management tools such as JIRA, JAMA or Azure Dev
Ops Test Plans.
Experience in a large, multi-department or public sector organization is an asset.
Skills & Abilities Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including UAT testers.
Robust organization and prioritization across concurrent projects and deadlines.
Collaborative working style and strict confidentiality with information and records.
