Field Floor Operator, 8+ Month Contract

Location: Squamish, B.C. Industry: Energy

Overview:

S2F Global is looking for a contract Field (Floor) Operator to support our client's pilot facilities in Squamish, BC. The facilities focus on commercializing direct air capture (DAC) technology, which captures carbon dioxide (CO₂) directly from the atmosphere. This is a long-term contract role until June 2027 with potential to extend.

You will be hands-on in the plant, operating equipment, completing daily rounds and gathering data during test campaigns. The data you gather supports technology development, process improvement and the design of future commercial plants.

All accommodation is provided. Daily meal allowance and mobilization/demobilization allowance.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operation and Rounds

- Operate plant equipment efficiently, effectively and safely.

- Conduct daily rounds and routine plant walk-throughs, monitoring parameters using the local HMI.

- Participate in test campaigns and production campaigns in line with the Operations Team schedule.

- Respond to plant upsets and perform the actions needed to bring equipment back online, including field troubleshooting, equipment cleanouts and turnarounds.

- Execute troubleshooting analysis of plant equipment.

- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and boom lifts.

- Label and tag plant equipment.

- Maintain a well-organized site and exceptional housekeeping standards.

Safety, Permits and Procedures

- Complete daily work permits as required.

- Execute, assess and sign off on proper Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.

- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and fulfill Operations Team responsibilities as detailed in the Operator Standard Work.

- Perform safety checks,



audits and daily workplace inspections.

Coordination and Reporting

- Support maintenance requirements and work alongside the Maintenance Team.

- Coordinate and oversee contractors working on site.

- Complete or provide input for daily logs and reports.

- Identify, capture and communicate lessons learned, and implement solutions where appropriate.

Team and Development

- Foster a positive Operations Team culture that promotes teamwork, a questioning mindset, and treats failure as a learning opportunity.

- Complete training on the client's processes and procedures to build a critical understanding of plant systems, process fundamentals and plant operations.

Required Qualifications:

- 1-2 years of operating experience.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Process Operator Certificate or Diploma is an asset.

- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, PFDs and SOPs to trace lines and isolate equipment.

- Working knowledge of process equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, blowers and instrumentation.

- Hands-on experience with LOTO, work permits and secure isolation practices.

- Basic computer skills for HMIs, electronic logs and Microsoft Office.

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights and in confined spaces.

- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and wearing full PPE for long shifts.





- Willing to work 12.5-hour shifts following a 14-on /14-off shift pattern (night and day rotation).

- Aerial Work Platform

- Forklift

- Confined Space (entrant and hole watch)

- Valid driver's license

- Proof of a negative pre-access drug and alcohol test
