We apply AI to increase the use of clean energy in smart grids and microgrids with distributed energy resources and demand response. We are driving the transition to electrification of transportation as the grid becomes the local gas station.
We are looking for intermediate software developers who are passionate about building scalable, high-performance software applications and distributed systems that power our real-time energy optimization platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying core software applications across our suite of clean-tech products.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, smart grid engineers, and platform developers; to build end-to-end features that collect, process, and optimize complex time-series data for renewable energy grids and electric vehicle fleets. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software services and applications for our SaaS products. Integrate data ingestion pipelines and machine learning models into production software environments for real-time predictions and energy optimization.
Analyze, scope, review, and estimate software engineering tasks within agile delivery cycles. Collaborate on backend components and Grafana dashboards , ensuring robust APIs, data layer performance, efficient feature workflows, failure alerting, and service oversight.
Continuous improvement of code quality, unit/integration test coverage, and software documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure system performance, efficiency, and reliability. Be an active contributor in design reviews, peer code reviews, and technical planning discussions. Hands-on experience building RESTful API services for data-intensive applications.
Experience working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization. Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and basic deployment concepts. Demonstrated ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code following up-to-date CI/CD practices, version controlling, standard development practices.
Assets / Nice-to-Haves Experience working with time-series data / databases (e.g. Familiarity with distributed streaming or data integration pipeline tools (e.g., Exposure to smart grid concepts , IoT telemetry, energy management systems, or EV fleet analytics. Knowledge, skills, and qualified networking in one of the most exciting and positively impactful technology domains at the intersection of machine learning, data science, electrical engineering, and software.
