:Title: Software Developer IILocation: Remote - CanadaReports to: Engineering Manager - Software DevelopmentVacancy: Existing VacancyThe Role:The Software Developer II contributes to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle through the analysis, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance of software solutions. This role works closely with Business Unit stakeholders to review requirements, validate designs, create work estimates, develop software, and verify product releases.

Develop and execute unit, component, and integration tests to verify requirements are met.

Adhere to established coding standards and test coverage targets to ensure product quality.

Perform code reviews to ensure quality, proactively identify defects, and recommend improvements.

Contribute to technical and end-user documentation.

Investigate and resolve technical issues for assigned projects.Qualifications of this Role:Required Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

2+ years of software development experience with languages such as Java or .NET.

Experience with application servers, web servers (e.g., Apache Server, NGINX), and version control systems (GitLab).

Experience with relational and non-relational database design and development.AI-Assisted Development Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and able to judge when to accept, edit, or reject generated output* Skilled at providing effective context - codebase conventions, requirements, constraints - to produce production-quality results* Experience using AI to accelerate test authoring,



documentation, and routine refactoring* Aware of AI tool limitations: hallucinated APIs, outdated patterns, security pitfalls in generated code, and the need for human verification before mergePreferred Familiarity with secure coding practices and common vulnerability classes (OWASP Top 10) Experience building software in Agentic fashionPersonal Attributes Exceptionally self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
