The successful candidate will collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary student services team to: Address referrals from assigned schools and provide comprehensive services to students.
Provide ongoing assessment and consultation regarding goals and activities to optimize the ability of students to function in their educational, home, and community environments.
Priority areas of focus include activities of daily living, postural and movement patterns, visual perception and visual motor skills, social and play abilities, environmental adaptations, and the use of assistive devices.
Provide written reports regarding student assessment and recommendations and share them with parents and school division personnel through team meetings.
In addition, the successful candidate will: Keep an electronic record of services provided to students using a school division data system.
Provide workshops and in-service in areas of expertise to teachers, educational assistants and others when requested.
Apply ethics and standards of skilled practice in the delivery of school based occupational therapy services observing relevant laws, regulations and guidelines.
Maintain licensure and registration with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists.
Need to travel between communities within an hour of Yorkton to provide services to assigned rural schools.
Salary and Advantages: Salary is in accordance with the current board approved Out-Of-Scope salary grid.
The School Division offers a competitive compensation package.
The Occupational Therapist shall receive a salary of Class V or VI on the STF grid plus Tier 2 allowance as negotiated through LINC.
