Job Summary: The Cyber Security Domain Architect will lead and provide expert advisory services focusing on Azure Cloud, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and Microsoft Defender security capabilities within a prominent healthcare organization.

This role involves developing architectural directions, security standards, and domain roadmaps to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise platforms and data across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

The architect will collaborate with stakeholders to align security strategies with business, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities: Develop and manage multi-year Security Domain roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy.

Evaluate existing security architectures and recommend improvements.

Define and maintain security architecture standards, controls, and reference architectures.

Provide architectural leadership for security across Azure Cloud and VMware Cloud Foundation environments.

Define security design principles for hybrid cloud platforms.

Drive adoption of modern security practices including Zero Trust and defense-in-depth strategies.

Establish architectural guardrails and constraints for infrastructure, identity, and data protection.

Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Defender capabilities including threat protection and posture management.

Assess current-state security architecture, define target-state models, and perform gap analysis.

Lead evaluation and integration of emerging security technologies.

Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure architectural alignment.

Advise stakeholders on security risks, mitigation strategies,



and architectural alternatives.

Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.

Minimum of three (3) years experience in a security architect role.

Experience developing multi-year Security Domain roadmaps with documented project examples.

Certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, or CISM.

Proven experience designing enterprise security solutions.

Solid expertise in Azure security architecture including Identity & Access Management (Entra ID), Azure-native security controls, and cloud governance.

Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or VMware-based platforms including virtualization, workload security, and network segmentation.

Experience with Microsoft Defender technologies including Defender for Cloud, Endpoint, and Identity.

Strong knowledge of security governance, risk, compliance, identity and access management, data protection, and incident response.

Familiarity with healthcare or public sector regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, PHIPA, NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001.

Ability to drive enterprise-level architectural decisions and advise senior stakeholders.

Desired Skills:



Experience facilitating roadmap development workshops and obtaining organizational approvals.

Knowledge of hybrid cloud security considerations and micro-segmentation principles.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to integrate emerging security technologies effectively.

Depth of knowledge in Azure and VMware security architectures.

Certifications held relevant to cybersecurity architecture.

Demonstrated leadership in security architecture and risk mitigation.

Relevant security certifications (Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, or CISM).

Proven experience with Azure security, VMware Cloud Foundation, and Microsoft Defender.

Experience developing and implementing Security Domain roadmaps.

Knowledge of healthcare/public sector regulatory frameworks.

Public Sector Experience: Preferred
