Senior Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB

We are seeking a Sr. Instrumentation Engineer to support the design and engineering of instrumentation and control systems for oil & gas and industrial facilities. This role will be responsible for instrument specification, sizing, selection, datasheets, RFQs, BOM development, vendor coordination, and technical support throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review instrument datasheets, instrument indexes, P&IDs;, cause & effect diagrams, and shutdown keys

- Size and select instrumentation, control valves, and measurement devices

- Support PLC, HMI, RTU, DCS, and SCADA-based projects

- Review vendor documentation and perform technical bid evaluations

- Provide technical guidance during design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning

- Lead instrumentation deliverables, project schedules, and junior team members





- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline

- Registered as a P.Eng. or eligible for registration with APEGA

- 5+ years of instrumentation experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry

- Strong experience with P&IDs;, instrument datasheets, and instrument indexes

- Experience with control systems, measurement instrumentation, and industrial processes

- EPCM and fabrication experience considered an asset
