Support Inuit youth and families with Inuuqatigiit Centre as a Student Support Services Worker. This role focuses on cultural advocacy and educational support for students within a caring workplace. As a new position under the supervision of the Manager of Education, you will provide culturally responsive support and case management for elementary and secondary students.
Your expertise will enhance communication between schools and families, ensuring students' academic success. Position responsibilities include offering guidance for school registration, integration, and re-engagement while fostering a strong connection to cultural resources. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide information and referrals to families
- Support parents and students with school processes
- Encourage parent/student engagement in educational activities
- Manage cases and monitor student progress
- Foster connections to community resources for well-being
Requirements:
- Fluency in Inuktitut is an asset
- Knowledge of Inuit youth needs and services
- Experience with Indigenous communities
- Relevant education in humanities or social work
- Criminal Reference Check required
