About the role
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patientsand families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive toindividual patient/family preferences, needs, and values and ensures that those values guide all decisions.
Creating acaring environment for patients and families ensures continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicantsare required to have a demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.
Reporting to the Manager – Cardiology & General Medicine, the Ward Clerk will be responsible for providing a full range of clerical support services for the 2C – Medical Unit.
Qualifications
- * Client‑focused communication skills; good interpersonal,organizational, and telephone skills
- * Demonstrated good time management skills
- * Ability to "multi‑task" to ensure an effectiveclerical work flow process on a busy patient care unit.
- * Demonstrated ability to assist with unit budget process byutilizing effective supply purchase and inventory control
- * Initiative with the ability to work with a minimum ofsupervision
- * Working knowledge of medical terminology, processing medicalorders, payroll, admission and discharge, and transfer process.
- * Previous experience with gathering and compiling statisticaldata
- * Must have computer experience particularly the area of datacompilation and entry
- * Meditech training and competency in order entry in anelectronic format is required
Salary Range: $28.208 to 28.879
