Job: Experienced Roofer / Flat Roofer / Roofing Installer
Location: Vancouver, BC and Abbotsford, BC
Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Job Overview

We are hiring Experienced Roofers, Flat Roofers, Roofing Installers and Commercial Roofers for multiple construction and roofing sites in Vancouver and Abbotsford, BC.

We are looking for roofers with hands-on experience in commercial flat roofing, low-slope roofing, SBS modified bitumen and Torch-On roofing systems.

Roofing experience is mandatory. This is not an entry-level or roofing helper position.

Candidates with SBS, Torch-On, Modified Bitumen, Flat Roof or Commercial Roofing experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

- Install, repair and maintain commercial flat and low-slope roofing systems
- Install SBS modified bitumen roofing systems and membranes
- Perform Torch-On / torch-applied roofing using propane roofing torches
- Install SBS base sheets and cap sheets
- Prepare and prime roof surfaces before membrane installation
- Complete roof flashing and waterproofing around drains, vents, curbs, edges and roof penetrations
- Perform roof repairs, maintenance and leak detection
- Measure, cut and install roofing materials accurately
- Use roofing hand tools, propane torches and other roofing equipment
- Load, move and handle roofing materials safely
- Maintain a clean and secure roofing work area

- Work safely on rooftops and at heights

Requirements

- Minimum 1 year of professional roofing experience
- Hands-on experience with flat roofing, commercial roofing or low-slope roofing
- SBS / Torch-On roofing experience is required for the Flat Roofer positions
- Experience installing modified bitumen roofing membranes
- Ability to safely operate a propane roofing torch
- Experience with base sheets, cap sheets, flashing and waterproofing
- Experience working around roof drains, vents, curbs and penetrations
- Fall Protection / Fall Arrest training required
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Ability to safely use roofing tools, PPE and fall protection equipment
- Physically able to lift and carry roofing materials and perform demanding manual work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work Monday to Friday
- Willing to work as part of a roofing crew and follow directions from the foreman/supervisor

Safety & PPE

Workers must follow WorkSafeBC regulations and all site-specific roofing safety requirements.

Required PPE may include CSA-approved steel-toe boots, hard hat, high-visibility clothing, gloves, eye protection and fall protection equipment, as required by the worksite.

Only candidates with professional roofing experience will be considered.
