About us

Tri-Cities Pet Care, operated by LUOMINGSUN INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD., provides dog walking services in Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam. We are looking for a dependable, caring person who enjoys working outdoors and puts dogs’ safety and well-being first.

About the role

You will provide private walks and assist with suitable small-group walks, following each dog’s care instructions and our safety procedures. This is an active role involving outdoor work in changing weather conditions and travel between service locations.

Responsibilities

- Walk dogs safely using appropriate leashes, harnesses, and handling techniques.
- Follow client instructions and each dog’s approved walking plan.
- Assess dogs’ comfort and behaviour during walks and promptly report concerns.
- Follow park rules, designated off-leash boundaries, and company procedures. Off-leash activity requires prior company approval and the owner’s written authorization.
- Assist with protected dog pickup, drop-off, and vehicle loading when assigned and trained.
- Pick up dog waste and keep equipment and any company vehicle used clean.
- Provide clear walk updates and photos when authorized.
- Protect clients’ keys, home access information, and personal information.
- Report incidents, injuries, or signs of illness promptly.

Requirements

- A patient, responsible approach to caring for dogs.
- Reliability, punctuality, and clear communication with clients and the company.




- Ability to carry out the physical duties of the role, including walking outdoors and safely handling assigned dogs.
- Willingness to follow training, safety procedures, and client instructions.
- A smartphone for schedules, communication, and walk updates.
- Ability to reliably reach assigned locations within the Tri-Cities.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Preferred qualifications

- Previous dog walking, pet care, shelter, or dog-handling experience.
- Pet First Aid certification.
- A valid driver’s licence and safe driving record for duties involving dog transportation.

Pay and schedule

- Pay: CAD $20–$23 per hour, depending on relevant experience and responsibilities.
- Initial hours and availability will be discussed during the interview and confirmed before hiring.
- Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, mornings, or evenings, based on agreed availability and client bookings.
- Additional hours may become available as the business grows.
