Langara College seeks an experienced Instructor for its new Indigenous Leadership in Recreation program in Vancouver, BC. Lead courses in Leadership, Programming, and Networking for Indigenous Recreation.
The Department of Recreation Studies at Langara College is hiring an Instructor to teach three 1-credit courses focused on Indigenous leadership in Recreation and community engagement. Ideal candidates will bring experience working with Indigenous communities, understanding diverse cultural practices, and employing participatory teaching methodologies.
You will foster relationships and provide a positive learning environment for adult learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lecture materials
- Design and facilitate group and individual activities
- Collaborate with Indigenous Nations for class needs
- Utilize technology platforms for course delivery
- Maintain regular office hours for student support
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in a related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Indigenous Recreation
- Solid connections within recreation field
- Experience with adult education and facilitation
- Commitment to excellence and community engagement
