Instructor – Fleet Management Assistant / Junior Service Writer ProgramLocation: Omnia Training St. Albert, ABJob Type: Full-time, fixed-term contractSchedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.M. to 4:00 p.M.Work Location: In personJob OverviewOmnia Training is seeking an experienced and engaging Contract Instructor to deliver our 10-week Fleet Management Assistant – Junior Service Writer Program at our St. Albert training facility.This opportunity is suited to an industry professional with experience in fleet maintenance, service writing, service advising, automotive administration, or shop operations who is interested in helping adult learners build practical, job-ready skills.The successful candidate will deliver classroom instruction, demonstrations, practical exercises, role-playing activities, and workplace simulations using Omnia's approved curriculum and training resources.Schedule and Contract DetailsMonday to Friday7:30 a.M. to 4:00 p.M.30-minute unpaid lunch10-week instructional contractIn-person delivery at Omnia Training in St. AlbertDaytime availability throughout the full contract is requiredAreas of InstructionThe instructor will deliver training related to:Fleet maintenance administration and shop workflowJunior service writer and service advisor responsibilitiesWork orders and documentation standardCustomer intake and appointment schedulingRepair estimates and customer authorizationService updates and invoice reviewCustomer service and difficult conversationsPreventive maintenance and OEM service schedulesParts purchasing, procurement, and vendor managementInventory, receiving, backorders, and returnsFleet Maintenance Pro or similar maintenance softwareExcel-based fleet tracking and KPI reportingCVIP/CVID compliance tracking awarenessGPS, telematics,
and maintenance alertsMechanical terminology and basic automotive systemsPractical work simulations and employment preparationResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging classroom instruction and practical learning activitiesFollow Omnia's approved curriculum and daily training scheduleExplain fleet and service-department processes in a clear and accessible mannerDemonstrate real-world work orders, customer intake, maintenance scheduling, and parts processesFacilitate role-plays, case studies, group exercises, and workplace simulationsCreate a professional, respectful, and inclusive learning environmentMonitor attendance, participation, and student progressAdminister written, practical, and performance-based assessmentsProvide constructive feedback and additional support to participantsMaintain accurate attendance, assessment, and program recordsCommunicate student concerns and progress to Omnia's training teamWork closely with Omnia's Training Operations Director and program staffMaintain an organized and professional classroom environmentPreferred QualificationsRelevant experience in fleet maintenance, service writing, service advising, automotive administration, parts, or shop operationsStrong understanding of repair orders, maintenance scheduling, parts processes, and service-department workflowExperience using fleet-management, service-management, or repair-tracking softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelStrong communication, organization, and customer-service skillsAbility to explain technical concepts to entry-level adult learnersPrevious teaching, workplace training, facilitation, coaching, or mentorship experience is an assetJourneyperson automotive experience is considered an asset but is not requiredExperience working with diverse learners and employment-training participants is an assetValid driver's license and reliable transportationIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is:Patient, approachable, and comfortable working with adult learnersOrganized and dependableConfident delivering both technical and customer-service contentAble to connect curriculum with real workplace examplesComfortable providing feedback and supporting different learning needsCommitted to maintaining a secure, respectful, and inclusive classroom
