About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production processes for their FMCG products in East London. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient, high-quality, and safe production operations, managing resources effectively, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a dedicated team, optimize production workflows, and implement best practices to meet demand and maintain cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a robust background in manufacturing management within the FMCG sector and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all aspects of daily manufacturing and production operations to meet output targets and quality standards for FMCG products in East London.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Manage production schedules, labor, and resources to optimize output and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production facility.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.




- Collaborate with supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Operations Management or Production Management, with significant experience in the FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and EHS standards.
- Experience managing budgets and P&L; for a manufacturing operation is essential.
