and help build the businessParticipate in proposal development and business development activitiesTake personal responsibility for delivering own goals and targets, without requiring significant supervisionPursue Continuous Professional Development while maintaining a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness. Manage own development, seeking opportunities for self-development.Maintain registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Registered/Licensed Skilled Engineer with Engineers Nova Scotia or other Canadian professional engineering associationWhat you bringA minimum of a bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar.Eligibility for a Personal Security Clearance with the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD).Driver's licenseSignificant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on maritime structures/vessels.Experience in the use of finite element codes and other numerical modelling tools for the analysis of structures.Experience in the maritime industryExperience in a consultancy environmentExperience with working for/with the Canadian Department of National DefenseFamiliarity with the Lloyd's Register Classification Rules, IMO codes, SOLAS, Transport Canada, CSA, IEC and ISO and other relevant standards used in the marine and offshore industriesProgramming experience considered a strong assetYou are someone whoIs keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needsIs able to self-manage and prioritize tasks towards meeting goalsIs effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisionsIs motivated and willing to take initiativesCommunicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly languageDisplays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environmentResponds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zoneIf you share our vision for safety and sustainability, we want to hear from you.
