working between Parkland At The Gardens and Parkland At The Commons for a combined total of 28 hours bi-weekly or 3 days bi-weekly an ideal opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents and teams at both sites.Assists in the development of menus in accordance with therapeutic nutrition guidelinesAssesses resident's nutritional status on admission and at least semi-annually; reviews monthly weightsand follows up as requiredAddresses client's individual dietary concernsEstablishes and maintains personal nutritional needs of each clientCompletes texture modification assessments on referralOversees and plans special nutrition needs for special diets, allergies and disease conditionsPresents staff and client education sessions on nutrition and other related topics based on indicators and identified needsCommunicates client nutrition care plans to clients/family/staff as appropriateCollects and enters appropriate data into databaseDocuments clinical nutrition indicators monthlyAdministers the operating budget for dietary services, overseeing the preparation of purchase orders, verification and approval of invoices for paymentAdditional duties as assigned/requiredAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:Bachelor of Science in NutritionRegistered Dietitian in Nova ScotiaMembership with professional associationExcellent communication, computer, and organizational skillsExperience in a long-term care setting is considered an assetCurrent First Aid & CPR and valid Food Handlers' Certificate is requiredSuccessful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, prior to appointment.A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
