If you're passionate about construction, technology, and delivering exceptional work, we'd love to have you help us build the next generation of landmark buildings.Position SummaryThe Drafting Technologist is responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and documentation for facade projects from design development through fabrication and installation.Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Production Teams, and Site Operations, this role transforms architectural concepts into coordinated shop drawings, fabrication packages, and installation drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable building codes, and Siber's quality standards.ResponsibilitiesShop Drawings & Technical DocumentationPrepare detailed shop drawings for window wall, curtain wall, storefront, punched windows, and cladding systems issuing computer aided design (CAD) software, Revit or other BIM modeling.Developing LOD 300/350 Revit models for facade systems in Revit for Curtain Wall, Window Wall and glazing systems.Maintain company BIM and drafting standards.Produce & review fabrication drawings for aluminum extrusions, metal panels, flashings,



and associated components if needed.Use Revit appropriately for parametric facade design with Curtain Wall and Curtain Wall FamiliesPrepare installation drawings, Grid layouts and sequencing details.Create details, sections, elevations, and large-scale construction details.Develop drawing packages suitable for consultant review, fabrication, and field installation.Project CoordinationReview IFCs & IDs such as, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and consultant commented drawings.Coordinate design information with Drafting Manager, Project Managers and Engineers.Attend internal project coordination meetings.Identify design conflicts and propose practical solutions with DM & R&D team.Coordinate revisions resulting from RFIs, SI's, ASI's, CCD's, and change orders.Review drawing packages for completeness and accuracy before release to pursue accountability.System DevelopmentDetail curtain wall and window wall assemblies.Had experience on how to model a family before with reference places with sweep.Detail anchors, embeds, brackets, clips, and support systems.Prepare waterproofing interfaces and flashing details.Incorporate thermal break requirements and air/water barrier interfaces.Understand sealant joints, structural movement & expansion joints, tolerances, and installation requirements.Document ManagementMaintain organized project drawing files.Track revisions by filling modification list sheet to maintain revision control throughout the project lifecycle.Archive superseded drawings.Ensure drawing registers remain current.CommunicationCommunicate technical information to:Project ManagersDrafting ManagerConsultants if neededArchitects if neededEngineers if neededAssist with responding to consultant comments during drawing review.Assist with improving drawing templates.Standardize details and assemblies.Support development of new facade systems.Contribute to lessons learned by making lean & kaizen strategy with DM.Qualifications RequiredDiploma or Degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline.Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit is a MUSTMinimum 3 years of drafting experience (building envelope, glazing, or construction preferred).Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit & BIM modeling.Strong understanding of construction drawings.Ability to read IFCs & IDs drawing.Excellent attention to detail.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.PreferredExperience with:Curtain Wall SystemsWindow Wall SystemsArchitectural Metal CladdingCSA, ASTM, and AAMA standardsWhat You'll BringStrong problem-solving skills.A collaborative team-first attitude.Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.Self-motivation and initiative.Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.Professional communication skills.Pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.What We OfferCompetitive salaryExtended health and dental benefitsCollaborative team environmentModern Burnaby officeCareer growth within a growing facade contractorOpportunity to work on landmark and high-rise projectsSupportive and collaborative team environmentCompensationTo be determine based on experience and technical capabilities.Hiring ProcessThe selection process will include two separate rounds:1 Technical Interview A technical discussion covering IFC drawing reading, façade systems, glazing, drawing interpretation, coordination and technical problem-findings.2 BIM/Revit Practical Assessment Workshop Shortlisted candidates will complete a 2-hour practical Revit/BIM assessment to demonstrate their ability in façade modelling, module preparation, drawing interpretation, Revit practices, accuracy and constructability.Please noteThe two rounds will not be conducted on the same day. Candidates who successfully complete the technical interview will be invited separately for the practical assessment.
