OverviewAs one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking a Deli Clerk to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals. The Deli Clerk will share a passion for food and help customers make healthy choices.ResponsibilitiesAssist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals.”Provide a high level of customer service and ensure that deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness of the deli department area.Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.Prepare special orders and party trays.Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.Maintain a clean, secure, and sanitary deli area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing debris.Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.QualificationsAt least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.Dependable and reliable, with an outgoing, friendly attitude and the ability to interact with customers.Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.Ability to answer phones and take special orders.Must be able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 70 lbs., from 4” to 60”, for a distance up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours.Must be able to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize workarea (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment,
