This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Center three times per week, at minimum.About the TeamThe Motion Estimation Team plays a key role in the software development of AV/ADAS systems at General Motors. This team is responsible for delivering integrated and tested software for various GM features, including Super Cruise, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist and others. As a part of Motion Estimation team, you will be part of fast-paced software team to deliver cutting-edge solutions for customer facing features such as Super Cruise in ADAS Organization.Key ResponsibilitiesThis role is part of the ADAS Motion Estimation Software team, developing production software for advanced driver assistance systems. Focus areas include implementation, testing, and integration of motion estimation functions.Design, implement, and integrate ADAS software solutions, with a focus on vehicle motion estimation and related state estimation functions within production ECUsDevelop and maintain code in C and Simulink, following automotive software best practices, coding standards, and configuration management processesAnalyze and improve reliability, performance, and efficiency of motion estimation algorithms and embedded implementations, including profiling, optimization, and robustness improvementsCreate and maintain technical documentation, such as design specifications, interface definitions, test plans, and release notes to support cross-functional teamsPerform unit testing and support in-vehicle testing, including test case development, issue triage, data analysis,



and collaboration with validation and vehicle integration teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in computer science, Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent)Eligible for a 12 months internship (consecutive semesters), working full time hours (40 hours a week)Preferred QualificationsExperience in the state estimation domain, ideally with vehicle motion estimation, sensor fusion, or related control/estimation algorithmsEmbedded software experience/knowledge, including developing, debugging, and optimizing code on resource-constrained targetsSoftware Product Line experience/knowledge, such as working with configurable architecture, reusable components, and feature variability managementStrong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholdersExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to break down complex issues, prioritize effectively, and drive them to resolutionThe monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $5,200.00.
