TheFresh Supervisoris responsible for the daily supervision of Clerks within the Fresh department. This includes the scheduling of daily activities including floor rotations and breaks. The Fresh Supervisor will provide training and direction to Clerks and will provide staff with feedback on their performance in the moment. The Fresh Supervisor will be responsible for completing additional daily tasks including stocking, rotating, building displays and providing excellent customer service.Reports to the Fresh Manager. The Fresh Supervisor works directly with the Fresh Management team, Supervisory team and all department staff, other stores, Head Office support teams, Warehouse and Manufacturing teamsWork PerformedDaily SupervisionPlanning and delegating the work of Clerks including the scheduling of daily shift rotations to ensure all Clerks are appropriately relieved when necessary and to ensure task variety to the teamSchedule daily breaks of ClerksTrain new Clerks and provide on-going training to members of the departmentSetting expectations of performance and providing feedback to Clerks in the moment regarding customer interactions and to ensure their compliance with procedures and best practicesActively managing the work of Clerks by engaging with them, assessing and supporting them and providing tools for developmentEnforce policy adherenceProduce HandlingEnsure that best practices are used when handling product to ensure customer safety and satisfactionTakes timely action to ensure that products are merchandised to the store floor whenever availableUses daily procedures to ensure that work is completed efficientlyEnsure product is rotated, within date,
and properly displayed on shelvesFilling assigned sections as neededClean shelves and merchandising materials and maintain tidy work areas in the back room and the sales floorSystem UtilizationMaintain department equipment in a neat, clean, orderly and safe mannerEnsure adherence to the correct utilization of CNF systemsEffectively follow product ordering procedures and guidelinesSupport the implementation of recent systems as needed to ensure that products are handled effectivelyCustomer ServiceGreet and engage with customers in accordance with their interest, being attentive to their needsCommunicate with customers with high level of professionalism and with a positive and friendly natureAnswer customer questions, and when answer is unknown work with customer to find a solution/answerManage and resolve customer complaints effectively and understand when a situation requires a manager's interventionCommunicate sales and promotions, make sales referrals, cross-sell and introduce new products and support in-store eventsMaintain professional and friendly relationships with vendors and business partnersQualificationsHigh School diploma required3-5 years retail experience preferredKnowledge of the Natural Foods Industry and its productsHigh care for product integrity and proper product handlingTechnical aptitude – developed competency with POS, computersHigh attention to detail, perceptive and attentiveComfort directing staff and providing feedbackFriendly, positive attitude and high energyExceptional communication and customer service skillsExceptional conflict resolution - willingness to directly address concerns when they ariseHigh EQ – developed ability to relate with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all timesStrong interpersonal communication – both verbal and writtenTrouble shooting and problem solving mindsetSelf motivated & Excellent organizational skillsTime management skillsHigh personal ethics and integrityAbility to work well under pressureSales skills & Dependability
