Join the Prince Albert Grand Council as a full time Community Justice Caseworker for the Urban Alternative Measures Program. Assist individuals navigating the criminal justice system and promote understanding of Aboriginal traditions.
This role, open to individuals from all backgrounds, focuses on supporting accused persons in understanding their rights, options, and responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Justice Rural Coordinator, you will provide liaison services, enhance awareness of Aboriginal customs, and assist clients in obtaining necessary legal advice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist accused individuals in understanding court procedures
• Provide liaison services between accused and justice administrators
• Enhance awareness of Aboriginal traditions and customs
• Help clients obtain legal advice for their cases
• Facilitate alternative measures including mediation and cautions
Requirements:
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel as required
• Knowledge of Aboriginal cultures and traditions is an asset
• Sensitivity towards socio-economic conditions in the community
Support individuals through the justice system while promoting understanding of Aboriginal values as a Community Justice Caseworker.
