This is an prospect for a Veterinary Technician passionate about rehabilitation medicine, mobility support, and improving quality of life for patients.We welcome certified rehabilitation professionals as well as candidates currently completing a rehabilitation certification program (CCRT, CCRA, CCRP, or CCAT) who are excited to grow within a collaborative specialty medicine environment.$29-$34/hour, based on experience and skill levelUp to $2,500 Sign-On BonusRelocation Assistance AvailableRelocation Reimbursement!Opportunities for career advancement and continuing educationSupportive work culture fostering collaboration and growthCE Allowance + Uniform AllowancePaid Time Off & Sick TimeShift & Holiday PremiumsMedical/Dental/VisionRRSP with employer matchDisability & Life Insurance36 hours per weekSome evening and weekend shifts may be required based on hospital needsObtain and review detailed patient histories through medical records and client interviewsDevelop strong relationships with clients while providing education and support throughout treatment plansDemonstrate therapeutic exercises and educate owners on home care programs including PROM, massage, and stretching techniquesAssign and monitor customized home exercise programs using rehabilitation softwareMaintain accurate and detailed medical recordsCommunicate effectively with veterinarians, team members, referring clinics, and clientsCreate treatment estimates and manage billing and invoicing accuratelyAssist with filling medications and herbal prescriptions prior to dischargePerform client follow‐up communications for ongoing and discharged patientsClean, stock, and maintain rehabilitation treatment areas and equipmentMaintain underwater treadmill systems and rehabilitation facilitiesPromote a positive,
collaborative hospital cultureSupport rehabilitation appointments and treatments as directedPerform technical veterinary skills such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, digital radiography, and monitoring sedated patients when neededAdditional duties as assignedVeterinary Rehabilitation certification (CCRT, CCRA, CCRP, CCAT) or currently enrolled in a rehabilitation certification programMinimum one year of experience working in veterinary rehabilitation preferredExperience with underwater treadmill therapyExperience performing massage and stretching techniquesExperience utilizing Class 3B or Class 4 laser therapyExperience with NMES and TENS therapiesExperience developing and implementing therapeutic exercise programsStrong knowledge of anatomy, musculature, and orthopedic or neurologic conditionsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong client communication and relationship‐building abilitiesAbility to work effectively within a collaborative team environmentComfortable working on the floor with patients for more than 50% of the workdayAbility to support and assist patients, including large and giant breed dogsExperience with positive reinforcement training techniques or interest in pursuing additional education in this areaFluent English speaking and reading skills requiredAbout MVESCLocated in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, MVESC's 24,000-square-foot hospital is setting a new standard for emergency and specialty veterinary medicine throughout Atlantic Canada.Our mission is to deliver the highest standard of compassionate, comprehensive, and advanced veterinary emergency and specialty care to our animal companions.A new standard of care in Atlantic Canada featuring:24/7 Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Exotics, Acupuncture, Rehabilitation, Chiropractic, and CardiologyFour Surgical Suites, ICU, Endoscopy,
