Explore a hands-on experience in library collections at Eastern Kentucky University as a Special Collections and Archives Library Student Assistant. Engage in processing, organizing, and digitizing important historical materials.
This part time role on the Richmond Campus requires detail-oriented students enrolled at EKU willing to work up to 20 hours per week. You’ll focus on maintaining confidentiality and following instructions closely while contributing to the organization and preservation of archival materials in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process manuscripts and photograph collections for archives
• Organize and describe materials per archival practices
• Write descriptive metadata based on conducted research
• Digitize and index oral history interviews effectively
• Assist patrons with inquiries through phone or in person
Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Familiarity with archival practices is a plus
• Knowledge of social media for curating materials
