OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Login Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Login Technician will be responsible for receipt and inspection of samples, recording all client sample information in LIMS, assigning analysis requirements, and generating sample labels. The Login Technician will prioritize and organize samples and workflow, to ensure efficient processing of samples into the lab, in order to meet client demands. The successful candidate will become proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesReceive samples, and document receiptPrioritize samples and workflow to ensure timely progression into the lab to meet client demandsEnter sample and client information into LIMS, assigning analysis requirements and generating sample labelsDistribute samples to the correct sample storage locationDetermine internal/external sublet location and prepare sample for shippingGeneral duties as directed by the team leader or operations managerMaintain a clean and protected work environment and notify coworkers of potential sample hazards; comply with all rules and responsibilities as outlined under the corporate Health and Safety PolicySkills / QualificationsPost-secondary education in chemistry or other science related field,
or high school diploma with related experience preferredMinimum 1 yr experience in a general service roleWorking knowledge of laboratory safety preferredData entry and computer skillsPossess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the work dayUnderstand what must be completed each work day and take the initiative to complete those tasks properly and in a timely manner - does not need Senior/Principal Technician or management to explain what the task isAbility to re-direct original plan in order to prioritize client samples as requiredAble to work well with others and collaborate with co-workersWill be working with gas and oil samples, cylindersAbility to identify potential issues with information providedStrong ability to prioritize and organize work flowPhysical DemandsFrequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)Lifting requirements: lifting < 50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasionAbility to perform computer based tasks for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50+lbs periodically using safe lifting techniquesCompany OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
