We're looking for an experienced payroll professional to join our team as a Senior Payroll Administrator. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll, this role is a key member of the payroll team and serves as the primary backup for payroll leadership.The successful candidate will bring advanced payroll expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for solving complex payroll challenges. You'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, leading year-end activities, supporting payroll system administration, and driving continuous improvement across payroll operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll OperationsSupport end-to-end payroll processing for multi-province payrollsReview payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit adjustments for accuracyAnalyze and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and escalated employee issuesEnsure payroll processing complies with federal and provincial regulationsPerform payroll balancing and reconciliation activities prior to each payroll transmissionSupport special payroll runs, bonus payments, retroactive adjustments, and off-cycle payrollsYear-End Processing & ReconciliationsLead payroll year-end balancing activities, including quarter-end and annual reconciliationsReconcile payroll tax filings, wage records, benefit deductions, and general ledger accountsSupport the preparation, validation, and distribution of year-end formsResearch and resolve payroll tax variances and year-end discrepanciesAssist with internal and external audits by providing payroll documentationDayforce Administration & ConfigurationServe as an internal Dayforce subject matter expertInvestigate and resolve Dayforce payroll, tax, timekeeping, and system-related issuesTroubleshoot data integration, workflow, configuration,
and processing errorsMaintain payroll configuration tables, earnings codes, deduction setups, tax configurations, and system controlsValidate system changes and ensure payroll calculations function as intendedDocument system configurations, procedures, and testing resultsWhat you BringRequired Qualifications5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including senior-level payroll administration responsibilitiesAdvanced experience with Ceridian DayforceStrong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, payroll tax regulations, and year-end processing requirementsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and VLOOKUPExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issuesStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to confidentialityProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience of payroll accounting and general ledger reconciliationsExperience with payroll audits and compliance reviewsExperience leading payroll projects, implementations, or system enhancementsAdditional InformationFull-time position based in Richmond, BCRegular business hours, Monday to FridayOccasional overtime required during payroll processing cycles, year-end activities, and other peak periodsStandard office work environment with typical physical requirements, including extended computer use and light lifting (up to 30 lbs.)to join a team-oriented payroll team dedicated to delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services across the organization.
