The School of Social Work at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for SWRK 610: Family Treatment in Winter 2027. Join a diverse academic community focused on training future social workers and therapists.
This lecturer position requires expertise in mental health, with qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology. Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of clinical and supervisory experience in couple and family therapy. Teaching this course will involve engaging with various theoretical approaches to family therapy and addressing complex family dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver course content on family treatment theories
• Assess and supervise student progress in practical applications
• Incorporate multicultural perspectives in teaching




• Facilitate class discussions on clinical competencies
• Evaluate student performance based on assessments and participation
Requirements:
• PhD or equivalent in a mental health field
• At least 8 years of supervisory experience in family therapy
• Bilingual abilities preferred for diverse student engagement
• Psychotherapy permit from Professional Order of Psychologists of Quebec
• Demonstrated teaching experience in family dynamics
