In this position, you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop control algorithms, align adaptive optics hardware, and characterize laser environments.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will enhance system performance by implementing creative wave-optics models and refining next-generation optical components. Your contributions will be central to advancing Xcimer’s mission of clean fusion energy. Key Responsibilities:
Develop optimization routines for adaptive optics control loops
Design algorithms for spatial beam shaping with phase plates




Align and calibrate adaptive optics hardware in high-energy lasers
Automate beamline setup for improved efficiency
Characterize optical workplace disturbances affecting laser systems Requirements:
B.S. in optical science/engineering or related fields
5+ years in optical science/engineering; 3+ in adaptive optics
Experience with deformable mirrors and wavefront sensors
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ programming
