Join the Vernon/North Okanagan Detachment as a Front Counter Clerk, providing essential reception and complaint handling services. Your role will involve issuing legal processes and assisting the public with police information and regulations.
This is a development opportunity under the Senior Manager, Municipal Support Services. As a Front Counter Clerk, you will independently manage inquiries, document complaints, and guide clients on various police matters. Your contributions ensure a well-informed community in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Issue legal processes and assist with police information
• Document complaints in PRIME and assess reported offences
• Provide guidance on court procedures and bylaw inquiries
• Maintain detachment security and escort visitors as needed
• Process and return found property to rightful owners
Requirements:
• Certificate in Office Administration or related field
• Two years' experience in police/public service setting
• Knowledge of Criminal Code and Municipal Bylaws
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment
• Satisfactory Police Information Check and RCMP clearance
