Job Overview

Well respected global manufacturer is seeking a dynamic and proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead their manufacturing site's health, safety, and environmental initiatives. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that foster a secure work environment across all departments. Role will be 3 to 6 month Contract.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take full ownership of H & S Programs across 3 locations and supporting approximately 150 manufacturing and support staff.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections within manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead incident investigations to determine root causes, document findings, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
Deliver engaging training sessions on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and best practices for all staff members.
Collaborate with management to establish safety goals, monitor key performance indicators, and report on safety metrics.
Stay current with evolving regulations and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and incorporate creative safety solutions.
Promote a culture of safety awareness through communication campaigns, safety committees,



and employee engagement initiatives.

Skills
3 + years experience in manufacturing environments with a robust understanding of industrial and manufacturing safety standards.
BS Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering
Excellent training & development skills to educate employees at all levels effectively.
Strong collaborative mindset with an active "floor presence with proven ability to develop relationships with front line personnel.
Solid understanding of Canadian and local compliance standards with experience translating corporate objectives to site level procedures and processes.
Exceptional English communication abilities to clearly convey safety policies and foster a positive safety culture.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence organizational change toward safer practices.

Pay: Up to $55.00 per hour
