Physician Assistant (Part time) – Primary Care Clinic, Guelph, ON

Schedule: 3 days/week, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM), 21 hours/week
Pay: $40 – $45/hour, based on experience

About Us

We're a busy, team-based family medicine clinic in Guelph. We're looking for a skilled, caring Physician Assistant to work closely with our physicians, nurses and reception staff to give patients high-quality primary care.

Start all procedures under a direct order or medical directive from a supervising physician

Responsibilities
Take problem-focused histories and do physical exams and patient screening, and order the right lab and diagnostic tests
Send referrals to specialists and other services as needed
Fill out patient forms or help patients with them, such as Return to Work, Functional Abilities, Disability Tax Credit and insurance forms




After a skills assessment and a satisfactory performance evaluation, perform minor procedures including:
PAP smear
Ear syringing and liquid nitrogen
SC/IM injections and childhood vaccines
Punch and shave biopsies
Suture and staple removal, and dressing changes
Keep accurate clinical notes in the EMR

Qualifications
Robust clinical judgment and positive communication skills
Primary care experience is an asset
