Duties include:
Work one on one and in small groups with children with autism spectrum disorder in our centres, family homes, and/or community
Creating fun and engaging learning activities
May need to assist with personal care activities including feeding and toileting
Daily communication with families and supervisors
Access to training and ongoing clinical supervision and support from a Registered Behaviour Analyst and those pursing certification
Will work around your availability but weekend day time and evening availability are required
Must be comfortable supporting children and youth with severe challenging behaviour- aggression, self injury and property destruction
Education:
A college diploma or university degree in a related field: Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology, Autism and Behavioural Science Graduate Certificate, Behaviour Science Advanced Diploma, BA/BSc Psychology/Child Studies/Disability Studies,
Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Service Worker
Skills/training:
Have a passion for engaging children with complex needs
Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities is considered an asset
Access to a vehicle and the ability to transport clients is required
First Aid/CPR required
Job Types: Part time, Casual
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
