Ivy Meadows in Beaverbank, Nova Scotia is hiring and currently accepting applications for Food Service Worker to join the team.

Department: Food Service

Effective: Immediately

Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly (8 hour shifts -11:00am-7:00pm)

Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent of Grade 12
Valid Driver's License and Vehicle (This location is not on a bus route)
WHMIS is considered an asset;
Ability to work well with others
Food handlers Certification
Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis according to the Northwood Corporate Standards.
Comfortable using email, Word and Excel

Responsibilities:
Maintains a protected and clean workplace using safe food handling practices, universal precautions and WHMIS
Ensures workplaces are organized and appropriately set up for work
Demonstrates good judgement and respect when using and storing facility equipment
Reports maintenance needs of equipment
Observes fire and safety regulations
Adheres to safe work practices
Practices proper body mechanics
Acts as a resource for other staff and assists in orientation of new employees
Maintains par levels as required




Accurately completes food temperature, food waste and quality audits taking appropriate action as needed
Assembles resident meals according to set portions and appropriate diets
Accurately labels all foods according to secure food handling guidelines
Uses first-in, first-out (FIFO) method for stocking and selecting food
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
