About the ClientWe're seeking a compassionate companion for a 70-year-old gentleman living in Thornton with his wife. He experienced multiple strokes following surgery a few years ago, resulting in a traumatic brain injury that affects his daily functioning. While he remains physically capable of managing most personal care tasks independently, he faces challenges with memory, becomes easily overwhelmed in busy environments, has partial vision loss, and requires supervision for safety. He uses a walker for mobility and needs reminders for medication management. He's described as funny, kind, and eager to maintain his independence, but currently feels isolated due to limited transportation options in their rural location.ResponsibilitiesProvide companionship and social engagement during weekly outingsAccompany client via Uber or other transportation to appointments, shopping trips, recreational activities, and community locationsOffer supervision and support in public settings, particularly when environments become overwhelming (such as busy stores)Assist with wayfinding and provide gentle redirection when neededHelp manage situations where he may forget PIN numbers or become flusteredSupport visits to preferred locations including Home Depot, golf driving ranges, restaurants, and potential community exercise programsMaintain clear communication with family members about outings and any concernsWhat We 're Looking ForFemale caregiver preferred (client 's preference based on comfort level)Patient, kind, and calm demeanor with ability to handle frustration or outbursts with understandingExperience supporting individuals with cognitive challenges, traumatic brain injury,

Preferred day is Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, though there is flexibility for alternative days and times that work for the right caregiver. The family is open to adjusting the schedule to accommodate a excellent match. He is kind-natured but can be difficult at times like any person. Previous handyman who enjoys Home Depot visits and would like to hit golf balls at the driving range.
