Become an integral part of HSB Canada as an Accounting Operations Specialist. In this hybrid role based in Toronto, you'll support the monthly close process and contribute to financial analysis.
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Operations & Systems, this position focuses on month-end close, regulatory filings, and financial planning. You will collaborate with Finance, Actuarial Services, and Claims teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. The successful candidate will have strong analytical abilities and a solid grasp of accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely cash entry processing each month
• Prepare and post claims results from systems
• Compile data for P&C; regulatory filings
• Perform financial analysis and investigate variances
• Participate in finance transformation projects
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent
• Chartered Qualified Accountant designation preferred
• 3+ years in accounting/finance, insurance preferred
• Understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
