As a Community Appointee, you'll participate in crucial decision-making processes regarding registration, quality assurance, and patient relations. This role requires dedication to attend 4 board and 12-16 committee meetings annually, necessitating effective time management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend committee and board meetings regularly
• Review materials and prepare for discussions
• Make informed decisions on disciplinary cases
• Provide policy recommendations to the board
• Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all matters
Requirements:
• Commitment to public service and opticianry regulations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding committee matters
• Unbiased mindset and critical decision-making skills
• Respect for diverse perspectives in discussions
• Knowledge of health professions regulation is an asset
