We currently have an prospect for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Occupational Therapy & Recreation department.In accordance with established vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Occupational Therapist performs assessments and interventions related to patients' occupational performance according to established Occupational Therapy practices and national provincial college standards. This position supports acute care, long term care and outpatient services. The Occupational Therapist works independently and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.Shift and SalaryShift Rotation: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00Hourly Wage: $45.15 - $56.17QualificationsGraduate of a C.A.O.T. approved program in Occupational TherapyCurrent registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.Valid driver’s license and access to a vehiclePhysical ability to perform the duties of the position.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to teach clients and others both one‑on‑one and in groups.Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.Communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and interdisciplinary team using oral, written and computer communication.Resolve conflict effectively.Integrate and evaluate pertinent data from multiple sources to problem‑solve and make decisions effectively.
Applies the problem‑solving process demonstrating critical thinking and decision‑making skills using a systems approach.Organize work, set objectives and establish priorities. Manage time and resources, implement activities to promote cooperation among the interdisciplinary team, supervise responsibilities of others, and collaborate across disciplines.Promote staff morale, engagement and risk‑taking.
