Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site, and together we provide outstanding, integrated care to support people in living their healthiest lives.The Medical Laboratory Transcriptionist provides specialized transcription and administrative support to the Laboratory, ensuring the accurate and timely transcription, processing, and distribution of pathology reports. This role is responsible for prioritizing workflow, maintaining confidential patient records, coordinating pathology documentation and send-outs, supporting laboratory operations, and providing administrative assistance.ROLETranscribe dictation using the dictation system, by priorityTranscribe dictated reports including surgical tissue reports, consultations, addendums, provisional autopsy, final autopsy and any stat consultations as requested by the pathologistOrganize and schedule laboratory office workflow to ensure turnaround times are met; determine priority of workAssist in developing and editing laboratory office procedures due to process changesRetrieve previous reports for patients from required databasesObtain and/or clarify missing and unclear information contained in dictated medical reportsDistribute transcribed Pathology and Cytology reports to physicians, including addendumsReport problems with dictating/transcription equipment or softwarePerform the procedure for electronic authentication dailyProvide administrative support to the Lab Manager, Charge/Senior Technologists and PathologistPerform day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including, but not limited to, word processing, copying, filing, faxing,
