The University of British Columbia seeks a Counsellor specializing in Varsity Athletics Mental Health & Performance. This position involves providing individual counselling, workshops, and programming designed to support student-athletes. You will work collaboratively with a team to implement wellbeing services that meet the unique demands of high-performance athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide short-term counselling to varsity athletes
Develop and deliver wellbeing programming and workshops
Conduct triage and connect students to resources
Offer mental performance consultations to teams
Collaborate with coaches on mental health strategies
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or related field
Minimum five years of clinical counselling experience
Knowledge of sport or performance psychology
Ability to work with diverse perspectives
Robust communication and collaboration skills
