A well-established Calgary law firm is seeking an Insurance Defence Associate with 2–8 years of experience to join its growing litigation team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of insurance defence matters while collaborating with experienced litigators in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities Manage insurance defence files from inception through resolution.

Represent insurers and insured clients in a variety of litigation matters.

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

Attend chambers applications, pre-trial conferences, and court appearances.

Prepare for and assist with trials and arbitrations.

Develop litigation strategy while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited law school.

Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta, or eligible for admission. 2–8 years of insurance defence litigation experience.

Strong advocacy, legal research, and drafting skills.

Experience managing litigation files with increasing autonomy.

Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills.
