Notary Personal Law About the Role: A growing legal practice is seeking a skilled Notary Personal Law to provide legal guidance and notarial services to individuals and families on a wide range of personal legal matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a notary with strong personal law expertise who enjoys building client relationships and helping clients navigate important life events, estate planning decisions, and personal legal transactions.

The successful candidate will manage files independently while collaborating with experienced legal professionals on complex matters.

Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on personal legal matters, including estate planning, wills, mandates in case of incapacity, and powers of attorney.

Draft, review, and authenticate notarial deeds and legal documents related to personal and family matters.

Prepare wills, trusts where applicable, estate planning documents, and declarations in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Assist clients with estate settlements, successions, and the administration and transfer of inherited assets.

Advise clients on marriage contracts, matrimonial property regimes, and related legal matters, where applicable.

Prepare and review co-ownership agreements, declarations of co-ownership, and other personal property-related documents, as appropriate.





Conduct legal research to support personal law matters and ensure compliance with applicable legislation.

Manage client files from initial consultation through completion, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery.

Coordinate with clients, family members, financial institutions, accountants, and other professional stakeholders when required.

Identify potential legal risks and recommend appropriate solutions based on each client's circumstances.

Maintain accurate records and ensure all notarial documents are properly prepared, executed, and stored.

Build and maintain robust client relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and client-focused service.

Required Qualifications: Licensed Notary in Quebec or eligible for admission to practice as a notary in Quebec.

Strong knowledge of personal law, estate planning, succession law, and related notarial matters.

Demonstrated experience managing personal law files and preparing notarial documents.

Excellent legal drafting skills and proficiency in preparing wills, mandates, powers of attorney, and other personal legal documents.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills,



with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and sensitively.

Strong client relationship management skills and a professional, empathetic approach.

Proficiency in legal research platforms, notarial software, and document management tools.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
