Become a Policy Counsel with the Department of Justice in Iqaluit, providing strategic legal and policy advice. This role involves comprehensive research and supporting legislative development.

The Policy Counsel position reports to the Director, Policy and Planning. You will conduct in-depth legal research, offering expert advice to aid legislative and regulatory implementation. Representation of Nunavut’s interests in important national forums and policy discussions is also a key element of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic legal and policy advice and analysis
• Conduct comprehensive legal and policy research
• Support legislative and regulatory development initiatives




• Represent Nunavut’s interests in policy discussions
• Develop, interpret, and implement regulations and programs

Requirements:
• Reside in Iqaluit, Nunavut
• Extensive experience in legal and policy analysis
• Proven ability to work independently on legal matters
• Solid communication skills for dialogue at national forums
• Understanding of legislative processes and departmental programs

Take a leading role in shaping legal and policy initiatives for Nunavut through the Department of Justice.
