**Job Description**:* Ryder has been Recognized by Forbes as one of Canada's Best Employers in 2025* Weekly pay.* 10 days of Paid Time Off upon hire* Excellent benefits package after 30 days (Medical, Dental & Vision)* Retirement Benefits including Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)* Employee discount of 15% on Ryder stock* A safe, friendly and respectful work environment* Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A/C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System: (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.* Coaches/mentors other level technicians* Advise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.* Performs facility maintenance duties.* Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.* Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)* Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.* Strong mechanical skills. Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems. Perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessary* Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.* Robust verbal and written communication skills* Highly thorough and dependable.
Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend* Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.* Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.* Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills* Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.* Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required.* H.S. diploma/GED preferred* Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications* Basic tools, required* Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required* Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred* Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required* Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred* All other certification as required by location, requiredThe compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
