About the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow with a specialization in Infectious Diseases to join their esteemed research institution in East London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical research aimed at understanding and combating infectious agents. You will be involved in experimental design, execution, and data analysis, working within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about scientific inquiry, possess strong laboratory skills, and be eager to collaborate with a team of leading researchers in a dedicated, in-person setting.
Key Responsibilities Conduct laboratory research focused on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases.
Perform experimental procedures, including cell culture, microbiological techniques, molecular assays, and immunological assays.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, preparing detailed reports and presentations of findings.
Collaborate with principal investigators and other research staff on project development and execution.
Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including experimental protocols and results.




Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and ethical guidelines for research involving infectious agents.
Requirements Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a focus on infectious diseases.
Demonstrated experience in laboratory research related to infectious diseases.
Proficiency in essential laboratory techniques such as sterile cell culture, PCR, ELISA, and bacterial/viral manipulation.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex scientific data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting.
Ability to work effectively within a research team in a dedicated laboratory environment.
